CJD's Open House will take place on Wednesday, September 27th. The parent Title 1 Meeting will start at 5:00 pm and Open House will begin at 5:30 pm. Please begin arriving at 4:50 p.m. for the Title One meeting through the lunchroom doors and no later than 5:15 p.m. for the Open House meeting. Open House will be more involved with your child's teacher compared to the Meet and Greet. You will get to go inside their rooms, learn about the course expectations and content, and receive information from the teacher such as the course syllabus. CJD Summer Enrichment Times/Bus Updates/ Report Cards/Registration Updates: 1. Summer Enrichment/Summer School is Monday-Thursday Only (for the month of June). Students can still join summer enrichment. 2. Breakfast will run between 7:30-8:15 am. Lunch will be served between 10:30 to 11:30 am daily. 3. All students should arrive by 8:30 am and be picked up at 2:00 pm and off campus by 2:15 pm (unless they are with the UHOPE program which is at 4:00 pm- If you were not contacted by Ms. Hardy your child is not in the UHope program and needs to be picked up at the 2:00 time). 4. Per the transportation department, this week, students riding the bus should be on their bus route at 7:30 am. More detailed bus routing information and times will be available next week once the drivers know how many students are riding the bus. 5. Stop by the school this week to get report cards and snapcodes. 6. Register your child(ren) online if returning, and in person if new. ** If you have additional questions please call the school.

Summer School Bus Information, Report Card, and Snapcode Updates for CJD Students: Parents, please go to the Google form link at the bottom if your child is participating in summer school or summer enrichment. They can not ride the bus if we do not have their information from the form. Please complete this quick form TODAY so it can be given to the transportation department. Your child will not be picked up by the bus without the form. If you can't complete the form today make alternative transportation arrangements for Monday. We will post to our CJ Donald Middle School Facebook page bus route information once it is provided. Also, a reminder that it is not too late to sign your child up for the summer enrichment program to advance their learning this summer as well as allow them to participate in fun activities. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and again bus transportation is available but we must have the Google form filled out with your address. Summer school and enrichment start Monday at 8:30 am. CJD Summer Enrichment Reminder: Parents, please return the Summer Enrichment letter if you would like your child to be a participant in our CJD summer program "Winning with Summer Enrichment at CJD." The program will be located at our school in the month of June (breakfast, lunch, and transportation will be provided) from 8:30 am to 2:15 pm and is available to all 6th-8th graders. Students will be aided in improving reading and math proficiency levels. Additionally, they will be exposed to fun and meaningful experiences (crafting, field trips, technology, games, etc.). We look forward to helping our students "W.I.N." (which means giving them "What They Need"). You can ask your child to get another copy if they lost the letter or you can stop by the main office to pick up a copy.

Several Events are Upcoming at CJD. Please listen to the updates: 1. Donald Day is this Thursday, 5/18. The cost of admission is $20.00. TOMORROW, 5/16 is the last day to purchase. It is not open to the public. The cost of the ticket includes an obstacle course and slide, a game truck, DJ, horses, and free treats. Additionally, there will be food trucks that students can visit to purchase items. 2. Girls Basketball tryouts are this Wednesday, 5/17 at 3:45 pm at the high school. Report to the gym. 3. 8th Grade Graduation is this Friday, 5/19 at 11:00 am. 8th graders should adhere to the dress code and rules and protocol provided by the 8th-grade team. 4. Next week is our 6th and 7th-grade Award's Day on Tuesday, 5/23. 6th grade will begin at 9:00 am and 7th grade at 10:00 am. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and National Junior Beta Club (NJBC) induction ceremony will be held on May 11 th at 9:00a.m. to honor our inductees. CJD Important Parent Updates: 1. 8th grade will take the ACAP state test next week starting 4/18. All 8th graders must be in attendance each day; the test is mandatory. They should arrive by 7:45 am each day for breakfast, testing will follow. They should leave book bags and cellphones at home. 2. Parent Surveys were sent home this week. Please scan the QR code, take the survey and return the form by your child. They will receive a Tiger Buck if the survey is completed and the form is signed. They will return it to the teacher that distributed it. 3. Over the next couple of weeks, students in danger of failing will receive a letter. Please ask your child daily if they received a letter (especially if they have grades that have fluctuated). Please sign it and have your child return it to their homeroom teacher. Additionally, please check their grades in PowerSchool at least weekly.

CJD 6th Grade Parents: All 6th-grade students will be taking the ACAP state assessment NEXT WEEK starting 4/11; it is mandatory that all students take each section. All students should be at school by 7:45 am to eat breakfast and dismiss to their testing site; testing must start on time. Please ensure that your child is in attendance every day next week and is on time. Additionally, please ensure they get plenty of rest the night before and explain to them the importance of giving their best each day of testing. These test results affect the school's report card, will determine student placement in various courses, and supplemental interventions required, thus we need students to give their personal best. Please read the following reminders: CJD's 1st Semester Award's Day will be on next Wednesday, 2/8, and will be held in the gymnasium. If your child has perfect attendance or is on the A/B or A honor roll for either the 1st or second nine weeks they will be recognized. The schedule is as follows (it will also be posted on our Facebook page and Website): 8th Grade- 8:30 am to 9:00 am 7th Grade- 9:30 am to 10:00 am 6th Grade- 10:30 am to 11:00 am Secondly, the water donation drive has been extended to 2/10. Please support our drive to help those affected by the storms in Selma, Alabama. Students will be awarded Tiger Bucks for your support. Lastly, this Wednesday is E-Learning Day.
