An energetic group

What a day!!! We had 22 students, lots of special guests, and even more knowledge gained. Fairfield “All Access” Sports Medicine Day was nothing short of success. Thank you to Drayer Physical Therapy, Cahaba Medical Care, Precision Sports Medicine, The Hoover Fire Department, Stop The Bleed/UAB Hospital, and all the wonderful athletic trainers who volunteered their time to spend the day with these special kids.

Our students learned the tools to be successful as a student aide, how to tourniquet and pack deep wounds (fractures, lacerations, bullet wounds, and stabbing wounds), how to tape ankles and wrists, spine boarding, splinting, first aid, and much more!

They also got two hours to have one-on-one questions and answers from healthcare professionals such as athletic training, physical therapy, EMT/Paramedics, War Combat Medics, Trauma Surgeons, Nurse Practitioners, and Office Administration!!

Thank you to all who made this camp a huge success! Here’s to next year being even better!
