Interview

The FHPS Choir was featured on Channel 42 this morning sharing their invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City!!!

Kudos to 11th grader and bass singer, Kendall Rhodes, for an outstanding interview sharing his perspective on the magnitude of this trip. This once in a lifetime opportunity is truly special for the sixteen (16) students who will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” arranged by Roland Carter, “I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes” arranged by Adolphus Hailstork, and “Gloria” arranged by John Rutter.

We are forever grateful to Dr. Kristofer Sanchack, Alabama State University’s Choir Director, for the invitation to join him for the 40th Choir Anniversary at Carnegie Hall where high school and collegiate choirs gather from across the nation to share their talents,

In Fairfield, we are one and support our scholars in their extracurricular activities, therefore. we stand behind the choir and their efforts to raise the required funds for such an expensive endeavor. This is indeed an honor and we are happy our students will experience the  camaraderie with other choirs and the choral performance in such a historic venue.

These students will never forget the time they went to NY and we are supporting them to make this dream a reality. As a district and community. we are excited and know you will represent Fairfield, AL and our school district well.

Thank you, Ms. Twanisha Brooks, for your passion for music and student excellence which has framed your vision into developing this stellar program. Take a bow. Ms. Brooks, for a job well done.

Please join the parents’ effort to make this a reality. They have established a Go Fund Me page for those who can and desire to support the choir program. The trip is scheduled May 10th through 14th. The link is listed below…
