We know Fairfield has produced great talent. And, now some of our own students will showcase their work on a national stage with world class artists.

The Fairfield High Preparatory School Choir is preparing to join a national choir ensemble to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City in May! Choir Director, Twanisha Brooks is working hard to make this dream a reality for the students. She calls this a once in  a lifetime opportunity for students and the community. The performance is part of the 40th anniversary season, and will feature the New England Symphonic Ensemble and world-class soloists.

"To be asked by Dr. Kristopher Sanchack (Alabama State University director of choral activities) is a blessing, and quite frankly, the biggest opportunity in my 15 years as a music educator," says Ms. Brooks.

Dr. Sanchack will conduct Adolphus Hailstork's "I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes," John Rutter's "Gloria," and Roland Carter's "Lift Every Voice and Sing."

The trip is scheduled for May 10th - 14th.

To offset costs, Ms. Brooks and students have been raising funds through food and candy sales, church performances, and accepting individual donations.

To further help expenses, Parents of the Fairfield Choir are sponsoring a GoFundMe campaign, and are asking the community to give what they can to help students who cannot afford the costs associated with the trip - whether it's $5, $500, or $5,000. You can help by visiting the link below.

We are so very proud of our students who continue to work hard on their craft. We are thankful to have Ms. Brooks, whose vision and passion for music are clearly impacting the students of Fairfield.
